Tuatara loved his sunny rocks. Weta loved her leafy nook. They decided to swap houses for a whole week.
Tuatara crept into Weta's dark, damp burrow. 'Too tight!' he grumbled. He missed the warm sun on his scales.
Weta hopped into Tuatara's bright, open crevice. 'Too dry!' she whispered. She missed her cozy pile of leaves.
Midweek came. Tuatara tried to nap in the damp. Weta tried to climb the dry stones. Both just felt out of place.
They met by the old ponga fern. 'I miss my sunny rocks!' said Tuatara. 'I miss my leafy nook!' said Weta.
Week ended. Tuatara rushed back to his warm rocks. Weta scurried into her cozy leaves. 'Home is best,' they both smiled.
