On the tallest rock, by the endless sea, lived a little cat named Whiskers and Old Tom the Keeper.
One night, thick fog rolled in, hiding the moon and the stars. The lighthouse beam blinked, but the fog made it weak.
A big ship's horn moaned low — mooo — like a scared whale. Whiskers flicked her tail, feeling the worry.
Old Tom frowned. "The light can't reach them!" Whiskers twitched her tail faster, and suddenly a warm glow sparked from the tip.
Whiskers leaped to the railing, her tail swinging high. She waved it left and right — a tiny lighthouse!
The ship's horn blew two happy toots — too-too! Whiskers purred as Old Tom lifted her high. "Good cat, our little signal light."
